Richard Kershaw Helps Organize International Forum on Digital Evidence

DENVER-Nov. 17, 2011-Richard Kershaw, Asia Managing Director for Catalyst Repository Systems and the current president of the High Technology Crime Investigation Association Asia Pacific Chapter, is a principal organizer of the 5th Annual HTCIA Asia Pacific Training Conference, Dec. 5-7 in Hong Kong.

With a focus this year on setting standards in digital forensics, the conference brings together a global roster of eminent professionals. They will address digital evidence across all contexts, from litigation and cybercrime to internal and regulatory investigations. Speakers include the founder of the U.K.'s National High Tech Crime Training Centre, the Senior Assistant Registrar of the Supreme Court of Singapore, and a Hong Kong-based member of Orrick's Litigation Group.

Mr. Kershaw will present the President's Opening Address on day three of the conference and introduce the day's special management track. The track will focus on topics that include "Incident Management in the Cloud," "Whodunnit? Anatomy of a Credit Card Fraud," and "Computer Forensics-An Essential Element of Modern IT Security."

A fluent Japanese speaker, Mr. Kershaw has lived and worked in the Asia region since 1996. He is a recognized expert in designing data forensic strategies for by-jurisdiction data protection legislation and blocking statutes, and technical and procedural handling of Asian language data in complex legal review. He has successfully led litigation, arbitration and investigation matters throughout China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Mr. Kershaw is a frequent speaker on data forensics and cross-border e-discovery. He has lectured at U.S. and U.K. universities and presented to organizations and conferences that include the Hong Kong e-discovery conference, the Japan LexisNexis e-discovery conference, the HTCIA, International Bankers Association, Information Systems Security Association, the Hong Kong and Shanghai American Chamber of Commerce Law Committees, the Beijing anti-corruption conference, and the Asia Pacific Information Security Summit.
